Nothing Like a Good Cup of Coffee
One morning, a grandmother was surprised to find that her 7-year old grandson had made her coffee! Smiling, she choked down the worst cup of her life. When she finished, she found three little green Army men at the bottom. Puzzled, she asked, "Honey, what are these Army men doing in my coffee?" Her grandson answered, "Like it says on TV, Grandma. 'The best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup.'"
WHAT I OWE MY MOTHER:
1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE.
'If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning.'
2. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
'If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!'
3. My mother taught me LOGIC.
'Because I said so, that's why.'
4. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC.
'If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me.'
Missionary Update: May 2012
Rick and Connie Stomps - Awana Clubs International
We are grateful for our salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and the Awana ministry He called us to over 27 years ago! This has been a great year . . . busy, but great! We want to "Bless the Lord . . . and forget not all His benefits." Psalm 103:2
The year has been packed with club visits and Awana activities. While each event requires a great amount of time to plan and execute, we praise God for the harvest of souls! This could not be done alone. Our Ministry Team makes everything look easy. They help our ministry move forward.
What Is God Saying About the Greedy Rich, the Coming of Christ, and the Power of Prayer?
James 5:1-20
James 5:1-6: It is sad to see anyone weep, but the Lord is telling the selfish rich to cry, groan, howl and lament as they face the miseries of impending judgment. "Your gold and silver is rusted; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you." The dazzling brilliance of treasures, uninvested in the Bank of Heaven, can never satisfy the empty' souls's need for it's God, Jesus Christ. Tear stains on the hoarded treasures, come from workers whom the rich boss has cheated out of their pay. Cries of the poor have reached the Almighty Commander of heaven's armies, and even now he is gathering gold-rust and blood of the innocent, for condemning evidences at the Judgment Day trial. "You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy . . . on his day you shall give him his wages, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor and sets his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the Lord, and it be sin unto thee" (Deuteronomy 24:14-16). Pleasures and luxuries, self-fatten rich hearts for the day of slaughter (Luke 16:19,25, Job 21:13).
